revista ELLE enero agenda 2014

¡Hola!

Sleek Lipstick | Succumb Review & Swatches

sleek sucumb lipstick

                        _______________________________________________________________

Good morning! Today I’m going to make a review on a new lipstick that I discovered accidentally the other day, it’s called Succumb and it’s from Sleek. I’ve only been using it for the last 3 or 4 days and I’m already in love with it. As many of you know, Sleek is a brand that is gaining everytime more reputation in the cosmetics and beauty world, not only for its affordable prices but also for its high quality products.

But let’s focus on what is important now: the lipstick is called Succumb and it has a very beautiful coffee shade. I prefer it when a product has a name instead of a number, I feel that it has more personality (please don’t say a thing; I’m not sleeping very well these last days). In the packaging it says that it is a sheen product, but then it also says that it is matte, so instead of saying that the product is this or that because that’s what the brand says, I’m going to say that on my lips it has a matte finish, full stop. However it is non-drying, probably because it says it has Vitamin E, which helps hydrating the lips.

It’s a highly pigmented product; I have to say that I’m really happy with it. Although it is true that Sleek lipsticks are a bit smaller than the other lipsticks from other brands, since it comes with 3.5gr of product, I think that they are really worth it because for only 6 euros you have a product with the same quality than the quality of a product that might cost you 14.

Maybelline | El Efecto Pestañas Postizas / The Falsies Volume Express

maybelline the falsies mascara, maybelline efecto pestañas postizas,

maybelline the falsies brush, maybelline el efecto pestañas postizas cepillo,

maybelline the falsies swatches, maybelline el efecto pestañas postizas swatches

¡Hola!

Hello! I hope you’re having a great week. In my case University is killing me; I knew that doing a Master was much more work to do than what you did as an undergraduate, but I couldn’t imagine that it would be that hard. But anyway, let’s begin with the important thing here: toda’s review. Today’s product is Maybelline’s Volume Express The Falsies.

The ladies and gentlemen working on Maybelline argue that this mascara gives you volume and longer lashes, with no clumping and separating each lash one by one. As most of the times, I prefer to believe half of what they say, so then I won’t have high expectations that would end with a horrible opinion on the product.

In my case I have to say that I did feel my lashes with more volume, but not longer. It seems that I still haven’t found the perfect mascara that does both things. As you can see in the swatches up there, it is true that lashes are well separated; they look fuller but not longer. You can also see that it leaves your lashes with no clumps and well defined, something that makes it score more points. So this mascara would give 3 of the 4 things it promises to the customer, which is quite a lot. I also have to say that this is a Waterproof formula, something that I don’t like very much because then the problem is to remove your eye make-up, being waterproof makes it even more difficult and you and up with less lashes than 5 minutes before. I personally don’t need a mascara to be waterproof since I will not put my face into a bucket of water, but well, that is just my opinion.

To sump up, this mascara is really good if what you want is more volume and not longer lashes. It is available in 3 different shades: Very Black, Brownish Black and Blackest Black. It costs 9’99 euros like all the other mascaras from Maybelline.

2. Must Have MO4: Un negro mate muy pigmentado.

          _____________________________________________________________________________

Good morning! Today I’d like to show you what I got for my birthday from Sephora. Last Friday I turned 24 (I can see the abysm now), and just like every other year, Sephora sent me a Happy Birthday letter with this year’s present: a mini palette. I must say that you will receive this if you have the Sephora Black Card; if you don’t have it I would encourage you to ask for it since it’s free and you would have discount during the whole year; it’s quite useful.
This year the present was a mini palette which includes 4 eye shadows, 2 lip glosses and 1 blush. Believe me that when I say mini I mean it. I measured it for you to have an idea and it’s about 6x6cm, so yeah. xD It comes in a little box that imitates the Sephora bags, with its handles and everything, and it also includes a mirror inside.

Every eye shadow comes in the quantity of 0.44gr each, and its names are:

1. Catherine NO3: A silvery eye shadow. Personally I don’t like silver on my eyes but well…
2. Must Have MO4: A matte black eye shadow, really pigmented. Actually in the swatches I just pressed my finger on the eye shadow, so that’s what you would get with one application.
3. Crème Caramel MO8: A matte vanilla color, very neutral.
4. Coffee Brown NO8: A shimmery Brown eye shadow.

Then we have the 2 lip glosses that come in the quantity of 0.24gr each:

5. Rouge Shine 30: Although the name says rouge, that is not red at all. It is more a dark pink with shimmer.
6. Rouge Shine 05: I like this one even less than the one before. It’s a pale pink with shimmer.

Finally there is the blush, which there is only one but comes in more quantity, 1’95gr.

7. Exclusive fard à joues blush: I think that this was a good choice; it’s a pink/coral blush, very beautiful.

And that’s all for today. Is there someone who has received it as well? Did you like it?

Nars Isolde Duo Eyeshadow Review & Swatches

¡Buenas!

                        ______________________________________________________________________________

Hello! It was long since I wrote a post on eyeshadows –actually I think that the only post I did was a review on the Sleek palette Au Naturel and that was a few days ago, so today I decided to show you one of the eyeshadows I am more proud of: the NARS Isolde Duo Eyeshadow. NARS is one of this makeup brands that make you want to buy everything, it doesn’t matter if you don’t even know what they have to be used for (it took me time to discover what the multiples were, the only thing I thought while looking at them was “What is that, can I eat it?). They have tons of amazing makeup, as many of you already know, and a few weeks ago I succumbed to temptation once again and I bought something more –I have a list of the things I want to buy and that was something I wanted to erase from it as soon as I could. I bought the duo eyeshadow called Isolde and I almost cry while leaving Sephora. Besides they call it Isolde which is beautiful and whose legend I studied on my second year in my degree (Tristan and Isolde) and oh well, I love it.

The eyeshadow comes in a pack of two, one frosted ginger and the other shimmering copper, and they put it like that so you can mix them both because mixed it looks really beautiful. That is one eyeshadow that, although I hate to say it, has been made for blue eyes. Believe me when I say that if you are lucky to have blue eyes, you must invest in this eyeshadow because it makes your eyes really pop. I have to put up with it and wear it with my eye color, which has nothing to do with how it looks with blue eyes but well, it looks beautiful anyway. The packaging comes with 4gr of product, and it costs 36 euros.

CLINIQUE Superpowder Double Face Makeup Review

Matte Honey

                                         ______________________________________________

Good morning! In today’s post I’m going to talk about CLINIQUE’s pressed powder. The complete name of the product is CLINIQUE Superpowder Double Face Makeup –I know, it’s a bit tricky. Before analyzing the product I must say that I’ve used exfoliators and moisturizers of this brand before, so I trust them pretty much.

Starting with the packaging, inside the little box there is a mirror (which is always good, you never know in which situation you’ll need to apply your makeup) and it comes with a sponge. Personally I am more a brush person, since I find that it extends the product better than with a sponge, or even with the fingers, but everyone is free to use their own methods.

This pressed powder gives a matte finish to the skin, so it is perfect for oily skin types. It covers the skin imperfections quite well; it does not give you full-coverage but you can notice that you are wearing makeup. I would use it the days when you don’t have a bad face but you want to give your skin a uniform aspect. This powder is enriched with minerals, which among other things they avoid irritations produced by makeup on your skin, and it works really well with people who suffer from acne –and that is all my knowledge about minerals and makeup, that’s what happens when they are doing your makeup at Sephora using bareMinerals and the man won’t stop talking, but at least I learned something new.

The bad thing is that this product is only available in 3 shades, at least in Spain: Matte Beige, Matte Honey and Matte Neutral. The 3 of them are shades for fair skin, which I find is a big mistake because if you’re skin type is darker then you can automatically forget about purchasing it. The product comes with 10gr and the price is 32.50 euros.

M·A·C Melba Blush Review

mac melba blush swatches

mac melba blush swatches

mac melba blush swatches

¡Hola!

                               __________________________________________________

Hello! Today I bring you one of my favorite blushes, the one I always go back to when I don’t know which one to use: the M·A·C Melba blush. I usually go for peachy and orange colors because I like how they look on me, plus they give you a very natural look (in my humble opinion peachy shades look better on brunettes and pink shades look better on blondes, but that always depends on one’s tastes. Redhead are lovely and everything looks good on them ♥). In a perfect world I would have the whole collection of M·A·C blushes because they have an enormous range of different shades and that is amazing, but unfortunately my economy in the world we live in doesn’t allow me this, and I have to buy them one by one. But that’s okay; it’s more thrilling that way! (Always look on the bright side of life).

But getting back to the product, this is a very natural color which combines perfectly with everything –red lips, pink lips, natural eyes and dramatic eyes. It is a powder blush, so you must apply it with a brush, don’t use your fingers to apply it or all the product will be stuck on them and you will have nothing on your cheeks. It is really blendable and can last on your face from morning to evening, not like other blushes which disappear after 2 hours of wearing them. It is highly pigmented, so you don’t have to apply it several times: once is enough to give the perfect flush of color to your cheeks. This is important because the less you use it, the more it lasts! The package comes with 6g of product, and its price is 22 euros.
